Toshiba upgrade its SS RX1 and Satellite WXW to Penryn
Just a little note for those of you who loves Toshiba notebooks, first the Satellite WXW will receive a GeForce 8700M GT as well as moving to the Penryn platform with the T9300 Core 2 Duo CPU and as for the SS RX1 is concerned we also have a Penryn platform with a Core 2 Duo U7700.

Toshiba doesn’t take it slow when it comes to updating the Satellite brand. Ever since the company launched its first gaming laptop—the Satellite P105-S921—in early 2006, the torrential downpour of beastly laptops equipped with powerful graphics cards hasn’t ceased. As of this review, Toshiba has a total of nine laptops that target gamers, four of them legitimate contenders against big names like Alienware, Dell, Gateway, and Voodoo. The Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi4 ($2,499 direct) is the latest gaming laptop to emerge with SLI graphics and an Intel Penryn processor. These parts aren’t as powerful as the screaming ones on the Dell XPS M1730 or the Gateway P-171XL FX, but the low cost of ownership relative to other gaming laptops should grab the attention of part-time gamers and college-bound students.

Desktop PCs have a lot going for them: big screens, high-performance parts, and comparatively low prices, just to name a few. But if you’re working in a smaller space, you don’t always have room to squeeze in a whole desktop setup. The Toshiba Satellite P305-S8825 ($1,050 street) offers a nice compromise. This spacious laptop is classified as a desktop replacement, because it blends together a roomy 17-inch widescreen with a 7.5-pound chassis. It occupies a smaller area than a conventional desktop without forcing you to scrimp much on screen size, and, at about $1,000, doesn’t cost much more than your average desktop.
